Boutique Kenyan hotels and camps — Nairobi, Watamu, Eden, Ol Seki Mara.
Hemingways Collection is one of the most recognisable boutique hospitality brands in Kenya — a small portfolio of four properties that each occupy a distinctive position in the country's luxury circuit. The collection began in Watamu on the Indian Ocean coast and has grown thoughtfully over the years into Nairobi, the Mara, and most recently Karura Forest, while keeping the same boutique feel that defined the original property.
In Nairobi, Hemingways Nairobi sits in the leafy Karen suburb close to the Giraffe Centre and the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust — a stately fort-style boutique hotel that anchors most luxury Kenya itineraries on arrival or departure. Hemingways Eden, the most recent addition, sits within Karura Forest in the heart of Nairobi — an unusual urban-wilderness hybrid offering forest walks, fine dining and a small intimate footprint.
In the Mara, Hemingways Ol Seki Mara is a luxury tented camp in the Naboisho Conservancy — one of the highest-end private conservancies bordering the Maasai Mara National Reserve, with low vehicle density, walking safaris and the full suite of off-road game-viewing privileges that conservancies allow. On the coast, Hemingways Watamu is a beachfront property on a marine national park — the original Hemingways and a long-standing favourite for safari-and-beach combinations after a Mara or Amboseli circuit.
For UK trade, the Hemingways collection offers something quite specific: a single brand that genuinely covers Nairobi, the Mara and the coast, all to a consistent boutique standard. The team will be at AATE 2026 to introduce — or re-introduce — the four properties to UK buyers and walk through 2026/27 availability.
The four properties are Hemingways Nairobi (boutique hotel in Karen, near the Giraffe Centre and DSWT), Hemingways Eden (forest-set hotel within Karura Forest), Hemingways Ol Seki Mara (luxury tented camp in Naboisho Conservancy bordering the Masai Mara), and Hemingways Watamu (beachfront on the Indian Ocean within a marine national park).
