African Bush Camps

Authentic luxury safari camps across Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe — founded by Beks Ndlovu.

About African Bush Camps

African Bush Camps celebrates 20 years in 2026, marking two decades of building one of Africa’s most respected owner-led safari companies. Founded by Beks Ndlovu, a Zimbabwean professional guide, the business has grown from a single camp into a portfolio spanning Botswana, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, while remaining deeply rooted in the values it was built on: exceptional guiding, authentic hospitality, conservation, and meaningful human connection.

What makes African Bush Camps different is that growth has never come at the expense of authenticity. Our camps remain intentionally small, highly personalised, and designed around what is happening naturally in the bush rather than rigid safari schedules. Guiding remains central to everything we do, with many guests returning because of the quality of the people who bring these destinations to life.

Today, the portfolio stretches across some of Africa’s most iconic wilderness areas, from Hwange and Mana Pools in Zimbabwe, to the Okavango Delta, Khwai and Linyanti in Botswana, and the banks of the Zambezi near Victoria Falls in Zambia. Alongside our classic safari experiences, we continue expanding our elevated ICON experiences, designed for travellers seeking something more immersive, exclusive, and experiential.

Equally important is the African Bush Camps Foundation, which supports conservation and community development initiatives across all operating regions. Education programmes, healthcare support, water initiatives, community partnerships, and conservation projects are not separate from the business, they are fundamentally part of how we operate.

Twenty years on, African Bush Camps remains independent, owner-led, conservation focused, and deeply passionate about creating safari experiences that connect guests to Africa’s wildlife, landscapes, and communities in meaningful ways.

Signature routes & experiences

African Bush Camps operates across Botswana, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, allowing partners to create seamless single-country and multi-country itineraries across some of Southern Africa’s most iconic safari regions. The portfolio is designed to provide flexibility across traveller profiles, from first-time safari guests and families through to experienced Africa travellers seeking more immersive and elevated experiences.

In Zimbabwe, experiences span Hwange National Park, Mana Pools, Lake Kariba, and Matobo National Park. Somalisa Camp, Somalisa Acacia, and Somalisa Camp provide access to exceptional wildlife viewing and guiding within Hwange, while Kanga Camp, Nyamatusi Camp, and Nyamatusi Mahogany showcase the unique walking, canoeing, and river experiences that make Mana Pools one of Africa’s most sought-after safari destinations. Bumi Hills Safari Lodge combines luxury safari experiences with Lake Kariba, while Khayelitshe House offers access to the landscapes, history, and culture of Matobo National Park.

In Botswana, the portfolio spans Khwai, Linyanti, and the Okavango Delta, allowing partners to combine predator-rich game viewing, water-based safari activities, mokoro experiences, walking safaris, boating activities, and remote wilderness experiences within one journey. Properties include Khwai Bush Camp, Khwai Leadwood, and Khwai Lediba in Khwai; Linyanti Bush Camp and Linyanti Ebony in Linyanti; and Atzaró Okavango in the Delta. Looking ahead, the opening of Linyanti Legodimo in 2027 will further strengthen our elevated luxury offering within one of Botswana’s most sought-after wildlife regions.

In Zambia, Thorntree River Lodge and Lolebezi provide strong extensions to safari itineraries, combining river experiences, wildlife, adventure activities, Victoria Falls access, and easy integration into broader Southern African journeys.

Whether building classic safari combinations, family itineraries, conservation-led travel, or elevated luxury journeys, African Bush Camps gives partners the flexibility to create highly personalised experiences across multiple destinations and safari styles.
